FROM ASB TO THE WORLD: OUR ALUMNI STORIES

Sushmita Shanmugam, Class of 2025

Sushmita Shanmugam, Class of 2025, is an accomplished and driven alumna who won the Academic Distinction Award during her ASB Graduation ceremony in 2025 and went on to achieve a 1:1 (Distinction) at King’s College London while actively engaging in both campus life and professional development. She secured a paid role as a Student Ambassador at the university and earned highly competitive spring week placements with Morgan Stanley and the Royal Bank of Canada, paving the way for future graduate opportunities. Demonstrating her passion for business and marketing, Sushmita also completed a paid internship as a Marketing Associate with Sportas. In addition to these achievements, she contributed to student leadership and community by serving in the Treasury Department of the King’s Union and becoming an active member of the London Business and Finance Union. ASB is incredibly proud of Sushmita and her outstanding accomplishments.

Abdulrahman Albinali, Class of 2024

Abdulrahman Al Binali, a member of the Class of 2024—the first graduating batch of ASB—has achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the prestigious Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP). This well-deserved honor reflects his exceptional abilities, dedication, and future potential. Abdulrahman was also featured in an interview on Bahrain TV, where he shared insights into his journey and achievement. Established in 1999 by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, the CPISP awards ten fully funded university scholarships each year to outstanding students from public and private schools. The highly competitive selection process is based on academic performance, including GPA, SAT and IELTS scores, as well as participation in CPISP training programs, making Abdulrahman’s accomplishment especially impressive.

Muath Alsabbah, Class of 2024

Muath Alsabbah is a promising software engineer with a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end development, with expertise in technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, and Python. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at The Pennsylvania State University, where he has demonstrated outstanding academic excellence, earning the President Walker Academic Award for achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA. Muath has also completed a Software Engineering Immersive program at General Assembly in Bahrain, where he developed several full-stack applications, including interactive games, tracking platforms, and community-based web applications. In addition to his technical achievements, he is a recipient of a prestigious full scholarship from the Bahrain Ministry of Education and plays an active role in university life as the Founder and President of the Levant Student Association and a Resident Assistant, reflecting his leadership and commitment to community engagement.
